I am a Certified Birth Doula through DONA International. I have been certified since Nov. 2010 and have been blessed in being a part in over 30 births in my first year. My hearts desire is that every woman be able to make informed decisions about her health care during her pregnancy and birth. It is my job to educate, advocate, and support an expectant family through the process of pregnancy and birth, coming alongside them during this special time. I have provided my services to many different families of different faiths, cultures, and economic situations. I have attended births in nearly all settings possible and have witnessed both low-risk and high risk births. I attend home and hospital births in my area (Santa Cruz, Santa Clara and Monterey County, California). I have provided my services as a birth doula to two birth mothers and an adoptive family. I have had amazing experiences with adoption birth, and believe that it is part of my calling to work with people pursuing/in the process of adoption/placing for adoption. I believe that every birth and adoptive family needs a birth doula as a part of their team and would love to develop my skills in this area.
