Newborn Adoption Doulas

supporting birth mothers and adopting families

I am a Professional Birth Doula, a mom of two beautiful girls, and I am also adopted! I was adopted at birth and have always felt doubly blessed and doubly chosen / wanted (except when I was a teenager and I think everyone’s angry then, anyway.) I have a very special family: there are 6 of us who are adopted in my family, plus three babies in Heaven; I have 3 half brothers and 2 step brothers and I love having so many people to love. Now that I am a mother myself, I feel even so much more gratitude to both my mom and my “belly mom;” it’s difficult to even comprehend what sacrifice and love that big even mean until you become a parent yourself. I found my belly mom after I had my babies because I wanted to thank her for her gifts to me: life, opportunity, love, and a big, loving, wonderful family and extended family. I am a huge supporter of adoption and feel that my experience as an adoptee would be an asset as an adoption doula. Being a doula has been my most favorite job ever (besides being a mom :)), and I love the idea that I would be able to participate, even in a small background way, to help hold the space for such a beautiful and sacred experience. I look forward to hearing from you, Jennifer Willhite 626.437.6443
