I am a doula certifying through DONA. I am part of a large family, and one of my brothers is adopted. He was a gift to our family, and I will always be grateful for that. I feel mothers who decide to make this decision for their child have as much right to a supported and loving birth as any. I know that many do not have the funds to hire a doula. So, I work on a sliding scale, with payments plans, and barter. The most important thing to me is that the mother is supported and empowered to make her own decisions.
